Double Whammy! March 14, 2012

What a week it’s been for Henry. I got called home from work on Monday by Henry’s daycare since he had a fever. I brought him home and he pretty much slept the entire afternoon. He then slept for 15 hours overnight from Monday to Tuesday. I was going to stay at home with him but Chris was feeling sick as well so I went to work. When I got home from work, he seemed a bit out of it and threw up a fair bit so I figured the odds were I would be staying home with him today. Last night was hell. Henry cried screamed from midnight on. He kept trying to ball himself up on us and wanted to sleep on my throat basically. It was terrible. He eventually slept from 6am to 9:30am and had another fever when we woke up. He kept grabbing at his head and moaning so I decided to bring him to his doctor to see if there was more to this than a stomach bug. Turns out the little guy has a double ear infection. I felt terrible. The doctor though was really nice and said that it might not have manifested itself if I had brought him in yesterday. Anywho, now he’s on this pretty high dose of antibiotics that he has to take for 10 days, morning and night. I also called the daycare and they said with an ear infection, they can come back if there aren’t any other symptoms of illness (vomiting, diarrhea).

Now he’s kind of napping/moaning in his crib. The pharmacist said I should notice a difference pretty quickly. Here’s hoping!

My ear hurts!

Make me feel better
