Well here it is. My last weekend of maternity leave (well technically parental leave). I can’t believe that in two days I’m going to have to get up and go to work. I know for a fact that I won’t sleep well Sunday night if I sleep at all. I’ll be busy mentally going over my morning routine with Henry. I have to get him to daycare for 7am so I feel I’m going to have to get myself up around 5:30 so that I can take care of what I need to do to get ready then I can deal with Henry such as feeding him breakfast. I’ve decided that the last thing I’ll do before leaving the house is get dressed to avoid the possibility of getting little peanut butter finger smears on my new work clothes.
This past week just flew by. Henry did 3 days of daycare integration that went really well. They were just mornings but he adjusted like a pro. I stayed on the first day and at one point all the babies were crying in a circle except for Henry who was sitting in the middle laughing his head off. I made a mental note to keep an eye out for psychopathic tendencies as he grows older :-).
We don’t have much planned for this weekend. Henry is getting his first haircut later today and I know I’ll be a mess for that. We were going to go to Winterlude but it’s a tad cold out so we’re just going to hang out as a family this weekend.
I also managed to get a little crafty this week. I wanted to make a special blanket for Henry for daycare so I took some really soft minky type fabric for one side and a cute bird flannel print for the other side and basically just sewed them together. Super quick and easy (like under an hour to make(if you ever want to make a baby blanket. Unfortunately the picture isn’t that great since it was pretty dark in our basement when I made it.
