What I Did On My Birthday August 18, 2011

So I mentioned in my posts on Tuesday that I woke up to a nice surprise from Chris and Henry, the Swarovski tennis bracelet. Well that was just the beginning.

Henry and I went to our fitmom class (yep I worked up a sweat for my 30th). Susan went “easy” on us by not giving us burpees to do, however we did A LOT of ab work. I can’t count how long we did various forms of planks and had to hold them for a long time. I sure felt those the next day. If you want to slim your waistline, do regular planks and side planks to trim down.

I got home at 11:30 and my mom, stepdad, sister, brother in-law and nephews dropped by for lunch. My mom brought some Lebanese food from this great place in Hull (no idea what it’s called though). I didn’t have much time to socialize since the I had a pedicure booked for 1pm. My mom and stepdad were going to babysit Henry. Lucky for them, he slept from about 12:30 to 3:00 so it was more like they hung out with Steph and Martin while I was getting pampered at the spa. The pedicure was just divine. I’ve mentioned the Brookstreet hotel before. I just adore their spa. I could live there. I bought some trashy magazines, drank a diet pepsi and just let all the stress and tension of the past 6 months escape via foot massage and paraffin treatments. I got home and we had some cake. Great afternoon!

Chris got home and we decided to go back to the Swan for a birthday dinner. I just love that place. It’s an old home turned pub with great food and great drinks. The atmosphere there is so neat. We were also celebrating our 9 year anniversary. Yep, Chris and I started dating on my 21st birthday.

Yep Henry was there (making a really weird face)

I love this pic. I look deranged

Fast asleep

It was a great birthday day. Most of my presents were of the monetary kind. I’ve been scouring Kijiji looking for a round wood pedestal dining table and wood chairs for our kitchen. When I eventually find one that I like, I’ll put my birthday money towards it.
