I find myself singing to Henry a lot. Recently I’ve been looking up old Disney songs to sing to him. Like old old songs, no Lion King here, more like Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. There’s some golden classics in there perfect for babies. One song that I love singing to him is from Mary Poppins. I basically changed the name Mary for Henry and everything else just fit. Everytime I have a rough night or day, I sing this song to him to help calm us both down. It’s kind of like my love song for him. Here it goes:
Oh what a lovely day
Feels like a morning in May
I feel like I could fly
Have you ever seen, the grass so green
or a bluer sky?
Oh it’s a jolly holiday with Henry
Henry makes our hearts so light
When the day is gray and ordinary
Henry makes the sun shine bright
Happiness is blooming all around him
The daffodils are smiling at the doves
When Henry holds your hand, you feel so grand
Your heart starts beating like a big brass band
It’s a jolly holiday with Henry
No wonder that it’s Henry that we love!!
Today we went on our first outing alone without Chris. We went to the Well baby clinic which is hosted in a church in Glen Cairn. Every Tuesday you can go between 9:30 and 11:00 to have your baby weighed and hang out with other moms and discuss any issues you may be having with the baby. I’m glad to report that Henry is gaining weight very well. He’s 9 lbs 9oz now so 2 pounds heavier than when he was born. He’s going to be a big boy that one!
If anyone has any other song suggestions I’d love to hear them, both in English and French.
that is the best baby love song ever ❤
We found Hailey liked Only Gay Eskimo by Corky and the Juice Pigs 😉 Especially when you get to part of the seals singing. Maybe we liked it more than her…
On another note, Brad and I used to sing to our dog all the time and put his name in songs 🙂
We go to a group like that but it’s only once a month. We do songs and rhymes so all of my arsenal seems to come from there. I also bring out the Sharon, Lois and Bram once and a while.
Love those pictures, you look so happy 🙂
We miss you here, don’t forget!
